D2. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;SCOPE OF WORK<br /><br />D2.1 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of the repair and modification of&nbsp;<br />the existing aeration piping for NEWPCC SBR-1 and SBR-2.<br /><br />D2.2 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Contractor shall remove the existing wall mounted supports, fabricate and install&nbsp;<br />new wall mounted supports, re-slope the pipe and incorporate new expansion joints for each piping&nbsp;<br />loop. The Contractor shall further repair and reinstall the damaged aeration piping loop C located&nbsp;<br />in SBR-2. Damaged connections between the existing aeration piping and blower header shall be&nbsp;<br />repaired and reinforced or replace, adding new piping for crossover of flow between SBR-1 and SBR-2&nbsp;<br />headers.<br /><br />Work shall first be completed on SBR-2 which must be fully operational before work can proceed to&nbsp;<br />SBR-1 which must then be decommissioned and cleaned by the City of Winnipeg prior to entry.<br /><br />D2.3 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The major components of the Work are as follows:<br />(a) &nbsp; All work related to the refurbishment of aeration piping for Tank SBR-2<br />(i) &nbsp; &nbsp; Fabrication and installation of new wall mounted supports consisting of a series of fixed&nbsp;<br />and sliding supports to accommodate thermal movement as shown on the drawings.<br />(ii) &nbsp; &nbsp; Lifting, repairing and remounting of the damaged piping loop &lsquo;C&rsquo; in SBR-2 as shown on the&nbsp;<br />drawings.<br />(iii) &nbsp; &nbsp; Re-sloping of aeration piping to facilitate drainage between cycles.<br />(iv) &nbsp; &nbsp; Supply and installation of expansion joints in the vertical legs of each piping loop.<br />(v) &nbsp; &nbsp; Fabrication and installation of reinforcement where aeration piping connects to the blower&nbsp;<br />header and replacement of sections of aeration piping as described on the drawings.<br />(vi) &nbsp; &nbsp; Modification of existing blower header, fabrication and installation of new crossover&nbsp;<br />piping and butterfly isolation valve as shown on the drawings.<br />(vii) &nbsp; &nbsp; Removal of existing jacket and insulation on the blower header and drop leg piping&nbsp;<br />sufficient to carry out the work. Insulate and install new jacket as required to restore the&nbsp;<br />existing areas of insulation and to protect the new crossover piping components.<br />(vii) &nbsp; &nbsp; Provision of all scaffolding, lifting equipment or other as required to carry out the&nbsp;<br />work.<br /><br />D2.4 &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Contractor and their Subcontractors shall:<br />(a) &nbsp; Acknowledge the receipt of the Wastewater Services Division (WWSD) Contractor&rsquo;s Environmental&nbsp;<br />Preservation and Compliance Package by an email to the Project Manager or Contract Administrator.<br />(b) &nbsp; Comply with the Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Contractor&rsquo;s package of the Wastewater&nbsp;<br />Services Division attached as Appendix E.<br />(c) &nbsp; &nbsp;Deliver EMS awareness training to employees and anyone who will be working on projects for&nbsp;<br />the Wastewater Services Division (WWSD) through formal education, online training interactive&nbsp;<br />training or work experience.<br />(d) &nbsp; Be aware of their obligation as stated in the Wastewater Services Division&rsquo;s Environmental&nbsp;<br />Policy that provides overall direction for the WWSD&rsquo;s environmental performance and provides a&nbsp;<br />framework for setting environmental objectives and targets. &nbsp;This policy can be found online&nbsp;<br />through the City of Winnipeg Wastewater Services website:<br />h &nbsp;ttps://www.winnipeg.ca/waterandwaste/sewage/legislation.stm<br />(e) &nbsp; Identify and understand the environmental impacts of your work. &nbsp;Environmental impacts may&nbsp;<br />include, but are not limited to:<br />(i) &nbsp; &nbsp; Depletion of natural resources<br />(ii) &nbsp; &nbsp; Conservation management and biodiversity<br />(iii) &nbsp; &nbsp; Soil contamination<br />(iv) &nbsp; &nbsp; Air emissions and pollution<br />(v) &nbsp; &nbsp; Water pollution<br />(vi) &nbsp; &nbsp; Noise pollution<br />(vii) &nbsp; &nbsp; Spills and releases<br />(viii) &nbsp; &nbsp; Disturbance to local community and fauna<br />(ix) &nbsp; &nbsp; Use of landfill spaces and waste management<br /><br />&nbsp;
