Medical and Pharmacy Services for Norfolk Jail Inmates

On behalf of The Norfolk Sheriff (“NSO”), the City of Norfolk (“City”) requests proposals from qualified companies to provide (1) on-site medical services to meet the medical needs of inmates (initial physical assessments, ongoing evaluation and treatment of medical conditions, stabilization of urgent and emergency medical/psychiatric conditions, and medication management); (2) on-site specialty providers, such as optometry, podiatry, physical and occupational therapy, OB/GYN, and ENT; (3) on-site dental services to meet the needs of inmates (initial assessment, extractions, examinations, and emergency treatment); (4) on-site mental health care delivery to meet the needs of the inmates; and (5) telehealth services (example: hemodialysis) to enhance access to quality healthcare while maintaining the safety, security and privacy of offenders, and to bridge gaps by providing remote consultations with healthcare professionals.The resulting Contract shall cover medical services to all inmates that are housed in the Jail and to all persons in the custody of the NSO, as well as limited on-site medical services for NSO staff.
