Statement of Need Radiation Shielding Systems GENERAL: James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH) located at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612, has a requirement for RAMPART GUARDIAN ROVER and RAMPART IC SENTRY (BRAND NAME) to house and provide mobile radiation protection without the need for cumbersome lead vests during Cardiac Catheterization procedures in Cardiology Section of Medicine and Specialty Care. BACKGROUND: JAHVH currently provides patient care for veteran patients in the Cardiac Catheterization Labs of Cardiology Department Medicine and Specialty Care Service. In these Cardiac Catheterization Labs, the clinicians performing the procedure wear the typical bulky lead vests. PURPOSE: The requested radiation shielding systems would remove the need for clinicians to wear the bulky lead vests, providing more mobility which will lead to better quality care and efficient procedures. SCOPE: Vendor shall provide RAMPART GUARDIAN ROVER and RAMPART IC SENTRY radiation shields (BRAND NAME) that meets the physical, functional and performance of the listed salient characteristics in this section. The equipment feature is essential to the technical requirements to meet the needs of the government. CHARACTERISTICS: Rampart GUARDIAN ROVER Acrylic panels with 1.0mm of lead-equivalent protection Three panel system on smooth rolling, lockable casters that can be manipulated in position and orientation weighing under 330lbs Rechargeable battery-operated system for positioning adjustments Pliable radiation curtains that extend the coverage area, can be stored when not needed and are fully sterile IPX6 Protection Class for Washable Rampart SENTRY 0.5mm lead-equivalent protection that is height adjustable up to 72 and up to 26 wide Pliable soft shielding material Lockable caster wheels for smooth placement maneuvering and stationary placement when needed Low profile base and wheel system for tip-over/tripping protection Ergonomic handle for one-handed maneuvering Maximum weight of 115lbs for ease of movement SOFTWARE: There are no software requirements or compatibility needs regarding this request. INSTALLATION: Vendor will provide delivery and assembly/installation of the shielding systems in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab located within James A. Haley VA Hospital at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa FL 33612. TRAINING: Government will not require additional training. WARRANTY OF EQUIPMENT: Vendor shall provide standard manufacturer industry warranty term. Government does not accept extended warranty, which requires advance payment.
